MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Timy Baranoff Elementary School is to develop productive, socially responsible, life-long learners within a safe and nurturing environment by providing challenges that foster excellence.

SCHOOL GOALS

• To continue to surpass state and local standards of academic achievement in Reading, Writing, and Math and maintain exemplary campus standards.

• To enhance TEKS-embedded  programs in  Science and Social Studies.

MAJOR PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES

• Maintain, TEKS-based, annual work plans K-5

• Continue and expand hands-on science units at all grade levels

• Continue 100% staff and parent membership in PTA

• Maintain full implementation of ACME (Investigations) Math in grades K-5

• Continue flexible grouping for gifted and talented and special needs students

• Continue use of cooperative learning as an instructional strategy

• Continue and expand extended-day activities such as Choir, volleyball, and Art Enrichment

• Continue fall and spring parent/student/teacher goal-setting and evaluation conferences

• Continue staff Principles of Learning training with focus on: 1-Clear expectations, 2-Accountable talk and 3-Academic Rigor

• Maintain the Baranoff web site

• Provide family focus (Parent workshops) such as Doughnuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, and TAKS Parent Nights

• Provide monthly school-wide parent newsletters/calendars

• Continue Peer Assistance League (PAL) partnership with Bowie High School

• Continue Partner Tutoring and Mentor programs

• Continue training and implementation of MARE units

• Intel Master Teacher/Technology Training for teachers

• Apple Distinguished Educator/Technology Assistance for teachers

• Safety Patrol, Student Council, and Peer Mediation

• Literacy Library/ Balanced Literacy

• FOSS/STC

• Implement junior achievement program for K-5

• Development of Grant Proposals

• After school Math Pentathalon Program
