Boone is No Place for Hate
That was the theme of our Poetry for Fine Arts Night. The poetry will continue to be on display for several weeks. If you didn't get a chance to read student's poems, please feel free to take a moment when you are in the building.
Carnival was a great success!
The Boone Carnival was Saturday, April 14th and it was a huge success. Thanks to all of the great volunteers, students, parents and teachers for making this day a huge success.
In Loving Memory of Mrs. Boone
Our school was dedicated and named after George and Johnnie Boone. If you don't know much about our school's namesake, take a moment and read about this wonderful couple in the "About Boone" section of this website. We are so sad to report that Mrs. Boone passed away on March 7, 2012. Mrs. Boone was a master teacher, coordinator of the Elementary Education Department, and Principal of Sunset Valley for six years. Her active participation in Early Childhood Education prompted the state to mandate laws to fund Kindergarten for Texas children. She was an amazing woman. She always kept up with Boone through our newsletters and loved hearing about our school.
Memorial contributions for Mrs. Boone may be made to the Johnnie Boone Memorial Fund, care of Boone Elementary School.
Happy Birthday Boone - 25 Years of Excellence!!!
March 9th, we celebrate the 25 year anniversary of Boone with a wonderful assembly, parade and festivities throughout the day. Thank you to all the families who donated money so that all students at Boone could wear a t-shirt commemorating this day. Thank you to all the many people who made this day possible and for all of those students, parents, teachers and staff who have been so important to our school community for the past 25 years. We look forward to the many wonderful years to come.

College Readiness
Yes, even though we are a K-5 school, Boone teachers still think about preparing kids for higher education. On November 11, 2011, Boone staff spent the day learning what our students have to look forward to as they move on to middle school and high school. Our staff spent the afternoon learning about all the good things happening at Crockett High School. Take time to look at the Crockett High School Website to find out more about the amazing things happening at Crockett.
