Davis is a great school with smart kids, thanks to our educators, kids (of course!), and parents too. Davis thrives because of volunteers like you and is proud of its long tradition of having many volunteers helping out in many areas of our school. You can decide how much time you can schedule for volunteering at Davis. There's volunteer opportunities large and small, short term & all school year long - the trick is to find what works for you and your family.

So how do you get involved?

  1. Email the volunteer coordinator at volunteers@davisdolphins.org to get suggestions as to which committees and/or areas at Davis might work best for you.
  2. Attend the Back to School Nights and sign up to assist a committe.
  3. Learn about the different opportunities by using the PTA Volunteer Opportunities Form (coming soon in the Dolphin Digest and Wednesday folders!) and returning it to the PTA Volunteer Coordinator.
  4. Or just talk to any of the PTA Board members or Committee Chairs.

APIE's Background Check for Direct Contact Volunteers

Thank you so much for working with our students! We really appreciate your time. So that we follow the new Texas laws for volunteering to work with students, Davis asks that all 'direct contact' volunteers submit their information for a background check through Austin Partners in Education (APIE).  Direct contact volunteers are those that work 1 on 1 with students, chaperone students on overnight field trips, and drive students on field trips. Thank you!

Record Your Volunteer Hours

Whenever you volunteer at Davis whether at home or on campus, please record your hours on either the sign-in form on the table in the office OR on this at-home volunteer form. At the end of the year, the office and our principal, Dr. Hall, will total up all volunteer hours and report them to AISD.
