Eastside Memorial Global Tech High School
Eastside Memorial Global Tech High School is an international studies school that will integrate global issues into all subject areas with the intent of making students globally competent citizens. This campus is the first school in the nation that is a collaborative effort between the Asia Society and the New Tech Network. Students will have the opportunity to learn both Spanish and Chinese and to travel to foreign countries. In addition, each student at Global Tech will be issued a new laptop computer that will facilitate a Project-Based Learning curriculum that is technology rich and emphasizes 21st century skills.
Why International Studies?
Today's students are preparing for a world where success increasingly requires the ability to compete and cooperate on a global scale. Globalization has had a pervasive impact on the U.S. and other nations' economies. Since 1990, 3 billion people in China, India and Russia have moved from closed economies into a global one. One in five U.S. jobs is now tied to international trade--and the trend is rising. As a recent report by the Committee on Economic Development states, "U.S. employers will increasingly need employees with knowledge of foreign languages and cultures to market products to customers around the globe and to work effectively with foreign employees and partners in other countries.”
School Vision
Eastside Memorial Global Tech High School is dedicated to graduating empowered, compassionate, college-ready students who think innovatively, reason logically, and contribute as 21st Century globally-competent citizens.
School Mission
Eastside Memorial Global Tech High School will educate every student to be self-sufficient, strengthen every student to face challenges of mind and heart, and nurture every student to value wisdom in a diverse world through project-based learning, 21st Century skills, and a globally sensitive curriculum.
