Gorzycki Nights Out!
Gorzycki will be participating with various partner establishments in Gorzycki Nights Out. These are where the Partner business hosts a Gorzycki night at their establishment and gives back to Gorzycki. On the Gorzycki Night, you go to the restaurant with your family and friends and the partner donates a percentage of the proceeds taken in that night to Gorzycki. With all the activities going on in middle school, this gives you a break from cooking and the school benefits!
Our first host establishment is going to be Schlotzsky's at Sunset Valley, 5601 Brodie Lane, on Tuesday, September 15th. They will also be hosting Gorzycki Night Out on Tuesday, October 20th and Monday, November 16th.
Bring a flyer with you and your receipt will be included in the total proceeds from Gorzycki. Schlotzsky's gives back 20% of those proceeds to the school!!!!!
Flyers are also available in the school office and a limited amount at Schlotzsky's on Tuesday!
PTA T-shirts
No additional pre-orders will be accepted for the PTA Inaugural T-shirts. If an order is placed in the box after today, it will not be filled. However, in approximately 2 weeks a few remaining t-shirts will be sold from the school store for $15 each. Thank you!

This is a "live" page, that is updated when needed, and lists most of the Volunteer Opportunities / Events sponsored by the PTA. We are still working with faculty on dates and details for upcoming fundraisers and events. If you do not find a specific item you want to sign up for now, just add your name to the "Ongoing Needs - Misc. Volunteers: As Needed" column. We will add you to our data base and contact you as soon as we can. We are working on descriptions for most of the items listed on the columns - so you are a bit clearer about what you are signing up for! We hope to have that on our PTA website soon! !

Tiger Dads
Become a Tiger Dad! The Tiger Dad program is a great way for dads to become involved in our new school! Dads get to mingle with the students while monitoring their behavior during lunchtime. This greatly helps our school staff and can be fun for the kids and can be very rewarding and fun for you! Tiger dads will also have an awesome, cool booth on Tiger Day! Dads can volunteer as little as once a month for one lunch period, or as many days per month and as many lunches as possible. Please contact for more information.
Incoming Gorzycki Middle School Students Preparing for First Day of Classes at New Campus
Austin School Superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen celebrates the "aha" moment of mastering a combination lock to an incoming sixth grade student at Gorzycki Middle School, during a tour of the new facility on Thursday, August 13. After more than a year of construction, the 169,000 square foot campus will be ready for students on Monday, August 24, the first day of classes. The $30 million campus, which was funded by the 2004 Apple at Work Bond Program, is located on 42 acres along West Slaughter Lane in far southwest Austin, and will help to relieve overcrowding at area middle schools. Campus administrators project that nearly 800 students will attend classes on the first day of school. The Gorzycki Tiger campus was built to accommodate 1,125 students.
