Communities in Schools is a non-profit agency that works in partnership with local school districts to provide social services in the schools. Our goal at Harris is to help eliminate barriers to education by offering a variety of services to students and their families.

Some of these services include tutoring, mentoring, group and individual counseling, after-school groups and parent support. All services are free, voluntary, and confidential.

At Harris we recently partnered up with Family Forward which offers additional services such as a Parenting Support Group. If you are interested in joining this group (or any other CIS services) please call Allison Behr at 841-5476.

Thomas G. Harris hosts a variety of community services. These services are operated independent of AISD and Thomas G. Harris Elementary.
