Dear Kiker Comet Community,
Kiker enjoys a reputation of hardworking students, involved parents, and an exemplary staff that work together to achieve common goals. As we begin yet another year as an exemplary team, I am excited to work with you to reach our goals. One of our continual goals is to meet individual student needs thereby enabling 100% of our students to reach his/her potential, both academically and socially. We are building well-rounded, inquisitive, risk-taking communicators who are life long learners that have everything it takes to be successful in life. This goal can best be achieved through collaboration of all stakeholders. We look forward to not only working with your child, but your entire family to ensure a successful year for all. |

About Mr. Faulkner:
Message from Mr. Faulkner:
Dear Kiker students, parents, and friends,
Thank you for the opportunity to share some thoughts with you. As we begin our ninth year of working together, I am so thankful for the relationships that have developed. I know many of your children by name and that "can" be a "good" thing. I remember a couple of years ago when I called a Kindergarten child by her first name and her older brother said "that's not good, he knows your name". I also know many parents by their first names because you have been involved with us as we have tried to make good decisions regarding your children's education. Thank you for trusting us with your most valuable assets, your children. Thank you for trusting Kiker, AISD, and the public school system.
Your children are going to leave Kiker at the end of their 5th grade year both academically and socially prepared to take the next step in their education. The excellent faculty/staff here at Kiker take their jobs very seriously and work long hours to be prepared to give your children their best. Let us continue to work together to create the best climate for their learning. Let us "listen" to each other and communicate so that we can help create life long learners who are responsible and respectful. We want to foster young people who can problem solve and make good thoughtful decisions. Thanks again for your trust and partnership. |

About Ms. Chapa-Moore:
Eight years ago as my family made plans to move to Austin, we were introduced to Circle C. We looked no further for a place to raise our son. We loved the community, we loved the schools, and we loved our neighborhood. Over the years, I became a frequent visitor at Kiker Elementary. I took a parenting class, served as a cafeteria volunteer, room parent, office helper, campus advisory council member, substitute teacher, and substitute assistant principal. When the opportunity to serve as a part-time assistant principal arose, I knew it was the best of all worlds for me—a chance to be a part of a phenomenal team at a school I loved and a chance to work close to home. I look forward to working with parents, students, and the Kiker family in continuing the exemplary education our children have been provided.
My educational background includes eleven years as a middle school and high school teacher and five years as a high school assistant principal in South Texas. While in Austin, I have worked as an educational consultant and supervised student teachers for The University of Texas theatre department. |
