Kindergarten

All Kindergarten teachers would like
* books that fit with units taught:  ladybugs, planets/space, farm, apples, spiders, pumpkins, bats, teeth, fire safety, worms, pillbugs, fish, snails, oceans, any holiday, plants, animals from eggs, five senses, manners/character traits
* small items for students to count or sort (some examples are old keys, buttons, mini-erasers, etc.)
* a ream of paper to make copies, or good used paper to recycle (that can be put through a copier)

* Magna-Doodles (used are fine)

* child-sized bean bag chairs (for kids to curl up in to read)
* playdough
(home made is fine!)
* children's books on tape with matching book
* gel pens or unusual pens

Miss Hawkins
* someone with painting experience to paint the color words on the wall in my classroom (this will be above a bulletin board, so you'd have to stand on a ladder to do it)

* children's books on tape with matching book (for our listening center)
* small toys for the treasure box (i.e. "party favor" type)

* picture books - These are the books you would find in the children's section of book stores, the kind with one story per book and pictures on each page.  If you're not sure, check with me... I'll be glad to show you examples!

First Grade
Mrs. Schulze
* Primary Composition Books - looks like a regular composition book but it is blank on the top half (for pictures)  The bottom half is writing paper with a blue solid top line, blue dotted line and a red bottom line.  Made by Mead.  See Mrs. Schulze for an example.

* Magna-Doodles - plain, no "theme" (used, in good shape, are okay too!)

* a hanging shingle that says "Nurse" with maybe a drawing of a nurse so that when kids or parents come into the office they can see where the Nurse's office is.


Ms. Burke would like some soft, squishy balls or shapes (any kind/shape is fine!)
