GRADESPEED AND PARENTCONNECTION


LASA AS PILOT SCHOOL FOR GRADESPEED AND PARENTCONNECTION!


AISD has mailed official notification letters to all LASA parents/guardians to introduce them to a new electronic grade book system entitled GradeSpeed and the accompanying parent portal ParentConnection. LASA is one of six AISD secondary schools that is piloting the program beginning November 2009. The remaining AISD schools will begin GradeSpeed/ParentConnection in January 2009. With ParentConnection, AISD hopes to promote higher student achievement by enhancing communication between teachers and families of all students.


The official notification letters from AISD contain instructions on how to set up a ParentConnection account, along with a PIN (personal identification number) for each student. PIN notification letters were sent to the mailing address listed in SASI, the AISD Student Information System, in either English or Spanish, depending upon the correspondence language marked in SASI. If a Parent/Guardian record in SASI has been marked to receive an extra mailing, an additional PIN notification letter will be mailed to that person.


After following the instructions and setting up an account and logging in to ParentConnection, parents of students in Grades 3-12 will be able to view their student's assignments, current grades and attendance from any computer with Internet access; and parents of students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 will be able to view attendance information and report cards.
