Dance Awards, Honors and Kudos

Congratulations to 4 of our dancers who will be featured in Ballet Austin's upcoming "Nutcracker" performances: Sophi Siragusa (Clara); Emily Hammons & Emma Rader (Party girls) and Cameron Lasater (Rat).
2006-07
On February 27th, a group of dancers participated in an amazing Master Class at the University of Texas led by performers from “The Lion King.”
Four dancers are attending the Regional High School Dance Festival in Virginia with Ms. Javors the first weekend in March and Level 4 dance students attended an Open Tech Rehearsal of Kathy Dunn Hamrick’s “30 Dances in 60 Minutes.”
One of our senior Dance Majors was recently accepted to the School of Dance, Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, University of Oklahoma. Claire auditioned in January for one of 15 openings in the modern dance program. Auditions consisted of a two-hour technique class followed by a 60-90 second solo in front of faculty, all of whom have danced professionally in companies such as Jose Limon, The Ailey Company, and Pilobolus. Dance majors must be accepted to both the university and the school of dance, which is rated one of the top three dance schools in the country by both Dance and Pointe magazines, attracting students from across and outside of the U.S.
