The McCallum High School Band program is highly respected throughout the state on the concert stage as well as on the marching field.  The MAC BAND is a consistent UIL Sweepstakes Trophy winner (1st Divisions in Marching, Concert and Sightreading).  The McCallum Wind Ensemble was recently named as a State Finalist in the Texas Music Educators Association Honor Band competition.  In 2005-06, the Marching Band advanced to the UIL STATE MARCHING CONTEST held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.  In addition, the McCallum Band most recently performed at Carnegie Hall on June 15, 2008, marking the fourth McCallum Band appearance in the world’s most famous concert hall!

MAC BAND WEEKLY SCHEDULE

FEBBRUARY 8 - 12

1.  FINAL PAYMENT DUE FOR  THE WINTER PARK SKI-MUSIC FESTIVAL ON FEBRUARY 9 (TUESDAY).  ALL TRIP-GOERS SHOULD HAVE $650 IN THEIR TRIP ACCOUNT.   FULL PAYMENT TO AIRLINES MUST BE SENT BY END OF THE WEEK.

2.  IN ADDITION, WE NEED TO SEND A TRIP MANIFEST OF ALL  TRIP PARTICIPANTS ( First Name / Last Name AS THEY APPEAR on the photo ID the traveler will be using at check-in and at TSA security checkpoints.)   YES, ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED PHOTO ID FOR AIR TRAVEL (School ID or Driver's License will suffice)

3.  BAND FEES SHOULD BE  CURRENT.   
    Fall Fair Share --$100
    Spring Fair Share--$100
    Fall Instrument Fee (students playing school-owned instruments)--$25
    Spring Instrument Fee (students playing school-owned instruments)--$25
    Percussion summer camp fee ($50) and mallet fee ($25)

These fees need to be paid in full before students will be allowed on trip.  These fees pay for music, UIL and TMEA entry fees, accompanists for the upcoming UIL Solo contest, uniform cleaning, bus transportation, instruction, music supplies, instrument repair/ maintenance, etc.  These fees cover many services and supplies that have already been encumbered.  IF THIS PRESENTS A HARDSHIP ON ANY OF OUR MAC BAND FAMILIES, PLEASE CONTACT MS. 4.  REHEARSALS WITH ACCOMPANISTS FOR UPCOMING UIL SOLO ENSEMBLE CONTEST WILL BEGIN SOON.  STUDENTS SHOULD CHECK REHEARSAL SCHEDULES POSTED AT BAND HALL.   UIL SOLO/ENSEMBLE CONTEST IS FEB. 20 AT HENDRICKSON HIGH SCHOOL.
