Scholar Awards and Incentives

Oak Springs Incentive Plan

Our incentive plan has been formed to reinforce positive behavior and academic advancement. The leading component of our incentive plan is our Shaping Scholars for Success Plan, on which teachers record scholars' positive and/or negative behavior weekly.

Scholar of the Week & Scholar of the Month

Teachers have the opportunity to pick one student a week who has shown outstanding positive behavior. That student is presented with a Student of the Week button and recognized on the morning announcements by the principal. Teachers are also allowed to pick one Student of the Nine Weeks for their class based on:

• Less than 2 marks on the Shaping Scholars for Success Plan
• Passing grades in all classes
• Perfect attendance no excused absences or tardies

The Scholar of the Week and Scholar of the Month are recognized at a school seminar.  The scholar will be presented with a certificate of recognition during the last 15 minutes of the meeting.
