Magnet School KidsMagnet Schools

Student Council
Wins Award

Student Council members accepted their trophy for being an "Honorary Student Council" for the 2nd year in a row.  The trophy was given on Oct. 21 in Buda during the Leaders R Us workshop. The girls stopped off at the Pumpkin Patch on the way home.

Girls Conference

Ms. Molina and Ms. Chavez took some girls to the Gen Austin 7th Annual Girls Conference. November 15 at Austin High School. A few of the brave ones  tasted a cricket. The girls even started a conga line during lunch in the cafeteria. A former Sunset Valley student, Georgia Hernandez, was one of the announcers for the event. The girls had a great time.

5th Grade at St. Ed's 5th Grade Trip to St. Edward's University

SSV 5th graders spent the day at St. Edward's University. They went to biology and chemistry labs and got to do hands-on activities. They also went to the Mary Moody Northen Theatre and got a special back stage tour. At the new library on campus they experienced video conferencing and video production. They also got to take in the beautiful campus with its wonderful views of downtown Austin.
