Come dance the night away at Sunset Valley Elementary
There will be a Happy and Scary Haunted House

When: Thursday, October 30, 2014 – 6:00 to 7:30pm
Where: School Cafeteria & Gym
How Much: $1 entry (no one will be turned away)
Wear: Your fun Halloween Costumes!
Food (pizza and snacks), Drinks, School T-shirts, and more will be available for purchase to help raise money for your school.

Welcome to Some New People

Sarah Reilly will be our new Kinder ESL teacher. Sarah was a student teacher for Mrs. Reinhart and served as a substitute on our campus in the spring.

Becky Torres will be one of our new 1st grade Two-Way DL teachers. She comes to us from Pleasant Hill Elementary where she has been a bilingual teacher at 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades as well as a reading specialist.


Adam Hettler will also be a new 1st Grade Two-Way DL teacher. He was previously a bilingual tutor at Houston Elementary through AmeriCorps.

Veronica Castillo will be another 1st Grade Two-Way DL teacher. She is coming from Del Valle where she has been a 1st and 2nd grade bilingual teacher.


Alisha Greif is our new PPCD teacher. She was a dependable substitute for us for many years and we are excited for her to have her own class now.

Patricia “P.J.” Roach is our new counselor. She comes to us from Round Rock ISD where she was a 7th grade math teacher and worked with counselors to coordinate scheduling and plan student events.

Suzanna Kaatz is our new office clerk. She comes to us from Blazier where she also served as office clerk.




Some SSV teachers spent part of the summer improving their skills at The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
