A message from Dave
This is an exciting time to be in Austin ISD. The integration of technology into teaching and learning is rapidly increasing. Systems are being put in place to provide teachers with instant access to relevant student data and curriculum resources. In May 2008, Austin voters approved a $69 million technology bond. These funds will provide a major increase in campus technology. During the 2008-2009 school year, every teacher will receive a laptop to replace his or her current desktop computer. Over the next three years, campuses will receive new mobile computer labs, old computers and printers will be replaced and we will begin installing "Innovation Stations" in classroom. These classroom installations will bring projectors, audio video systems, document cameras and interactive tools to most classrooms.
The role of the Instructional Technology team is to provide classroom support for teachers as they use technology tools in the teaching and learning process. The IT staff works with your campus through the Instructional Technology Resource Contact to provide the needed support.
