Welcome to the AISD Elementary Reading and Language Arts website where you will find resources for planning, instruction, assessment, and professional development.
Recommended Elementary Language Arts Class Schedule
For the 2009-2010 School year, we are recommending an enhanced class schedule available here.
To assist with planning instruction, we provide the Instructional Planning Guides (IPGs) which may be accessed by selecting a grade level (in the menu to the left) or by selecting the link to the upper right (Language Arts IPG Resources). We also provide additional resources under the "Resources" link to the left, including more instructional resources to complement the IPGs (such as the Orchestrating Reading Success modules), TAKS Model Lessons and TAKS-Like focused assessments, news about professional development and literacy events in the Austin area, and links to other web-based resources available for download. We also maintain a Frequently Asked Questions section (FAQ) to help Austin educators get their questions answered as quickly as possible.
