Current AISD Secondary Mathematics Shared Vision:
- Our curriculum is rigorous, coherent, aligned, and coordinated throughout all grade levels to facilitate self-directed learners who construct meaning through exploration, real world problem-solving, conjecturing, reasoning and proof.
- Our students reach high expectations by utilizing Accountable Talk™ as they justify and communicate their thinking, take ownership of their solutions, and make connections to uncover the value of mathematics as they engage in challenging problems.
- Our classrooms are safe environments in which students feel free to express their thoughts and become actively engaged in learning by talking and sharing ideas.
- As teachers, we use best practices and researched methods as we employ multiple strategies allowing for students to experience enriched, authentic, and rigorous mathematics using resources, tools, and technology to solve real-world problems.
