Rebecca Lambdin


Rebecca Lambdin-Abraham earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in All-Level Physical Education Certification from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008. While at UT Austin she served as president of the Kinesiology Club and was awarded several academic achievement scholarships. In 2009 she completed a Masters degree at the University of Northern Iowa in the nationally-recognized Polar Scholar program, specializing in the use of instructional technology in physical education. In 2008-09 she taught physical education at Grundy Center (IA) Elementary School. Since 2009 she has taught physical education at Wooldridge Elementary School in Austin, TX. In 2010 she was recognized by the Austin Independent School District as a Teacher of Promise. She presented at the Southern District AAHPERD conference in the spring of 2010 on Teaching with Technology in Physical Education. This presentation focused on how to use technology to help make students self-sufficient in Physical Education as well as objectively assessing them in formative and summative assessments. Becca worked for one summer as an Adventure Camp counselor for the YMCA in Austin, TX and for two summers as a Junior Maine Guide counselor at Girl Scout Camp Pondicherry in South Bridgton, ME. She has also worked in an after school program for Youth Interactive (now ActiveLife) in Austin. She is an active member of the Austin Association for Physical Education and Recreation, the Texas Outdoor Education Association, the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
