The AUSTIN STUDENT DIGITAL FILM FESTIVAL
is a non-competitive, non-profit film festival open to students and teachers in Texas grades K-12, free to enter and free to attend.

  • ASDFF GOALS
  • Enhance every day learning through the use of digital technology
  • Celebrate the artistic work of students and teachers
  • Entice teachers to integrate technology in the classroom
  • Promote Austin as a hub for student digital film activity to surrounding districts

  • BEGINNINGS
The idea was born during the 2001-2002 school year. Soon a committee was formed and the committee transformed a small project into a district wide event. In May 2002, with the support of Austin ISD and Apple Computer Inc. the event was held at the Travis High School Theater. It was a smashing success with over 300 people in attendance, an elementary choir performance and over 25 teacher and student films shown. Over 40 entries were received that year.

Today, the festival is open for any K-12 student and teacher in Texas. We gratefully receive entries from public and private schools.
