ASDFF awards each selected film with a Certificate of Acceptance. Supporting Festival Sponsors provide prizes which are passed on to student and teacher participants. Select prizes are awarded to filmmakers and teachers depending on donations and outside support.

Past prizes have included scholarships for film camps and high-end technology trainings. Other prizes given away in the past include Apple iPods, Apple iPod shuffles, a Dell multipurpose printer, mini DV digital tapes, memory sticks, and t-shirts.

The Texas Student Union Theatre on the University of Texas at Austin campus was the host venue for the 2008 ASDFF. The last festival, ASDFF 2009, was held at the theater at Reagan High School. This year the festival is exclusively online, with online submission and judging. Our reception venue will be announced soon.
