The goal of the Department of Instructional Technology is to develop the capacity of teachers to work with technology within the curriculum. Our Technology Facilitators support the individual campuses. The Educational Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC) consists of campus and Department representatives and works together on technology policies and districtwide technology concerns.

The Department of Instructional Technology:

• works with curriculum and content area staff to determine instructional needs and schedules district wide and campus based training and staff development,
• purchases licenses for district standard software and develops standards for this software,
• develops and purchases distance learning equipment and software, andonline courses and resources for distance learning instruction
• ensures the implementation of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Technology Applications and the district adopted Principles of Learning into the curriculum
• actively seeks and helps develop grants and community partnerships that benefit students, teachers and community
