Instructions For Making a Bootable CD

For this process you will need the following equipment and supplies:

1. One Mac computer running at least OS 10.3.9 that has an internal or external FireWire CDRW drive attached.
2. One or more blank writable CDs with sleeves.
Preparation

Go to the installs server at http://uop/installs. Locate the Boot_CD_10.3.9.dmg link. If you experience problems with this process, hold down the control key while clicking on the link and then choose, Download Link to Disk.

Plug in the FW CDRW drive using the accompanying cable.
Use Disk Utility to Burn a Bootable CD
 a. Launch Disk Utility. It is located in Applications/Utilities/admin utilities/Disk Utility.

b. Go to Images menu and select Burn.

c. You will be asked to locate the image to be burned. Select the Boot_CD_10.3.9.dmg file located on your desktop and click the Open button .

d. Next, you will be asked to insert a blank disc. Insert a blank writable disc.

e. When the blank disc is ready, the burn button will become activated. Click the burn button.

f. From this point on, you will see various progress bars. When the burning process is complete your finished CD should automatically be ejected.
